foreign versus US medical school?

I am in the processing of applying to medical school thru the AMCAS service. If for some reason I don't get into med school here is it realistic to go to a foreign med school such as Ross or St. George, St. Matthews? Has anyone ever been to one of these schools abroad and if so how was it? Secondly, Is it difficult to get back into the US after having attended a foreign school?? A few MDs I know poopoo foreign schools and say one should never go to them. Please send any suggestions/comments??
