I had form EK which was very similar to EM. We had some of the same verbal passages, although there were differences in verbal. I thought the verbal was fairly straightforward and easy, but verbal always tends to be my strong suit. However, normally i finish with 20 minutes to spare...with this VR section i was pushed to the last 10 seconds. I don't know if that means it was harder, or just whether I took longer to really think about the questions. I had one rather difficult one on "concept prototypes" and the "meteor" one which others found kinda difficult. Let's just pray this all equalizes out
.
Yeah, the PS could go any way. I thought it was hard. It seems the people who thought VR was hard, though PS was easy and vice versa for the people who thought VR was easier. That passage with the simple and multiple particle firing tubes with the ionizing gas or whatever the hell that was, was impossible. I saved that one for last and was rushed through it, I pretty much was like WTF for that one. Glad someone else found it the same as well  but that was the only passage that stands out in my mind. PS usually always sucks for me. I found both PS and BS exercises in logical guessing, I hope I guessed the right way!
BS was okay. I actually liked the Bombay passage, it took me a little while to think it through, but I think I got it okay. The BS section was actually pretty heavy on the immunology, thank goodness for me taking that immunology class that I had to pass/fail cuz I almost failed it
. But that Bombay passage, while seemingly concerning genetics, actually had a lot to do with immunology and how immunology affects co-dominance. I think that made it easier for me. The orgo was intense but straightforward - again, an exercise in logical guessing. I find that what makes sense to me isn't the one that makes sense to the graders  . We had that grignard/hvz reaction at the end and I was straining my memory to remember my class notes. MgBr could be replaced by something-Li, right?
I forget the pKa values one, what was it about?
Oh, and I complained in a previous post that I don't know how people are supposed to know what the heck is a vole is except that maybe it sounds like a "mole." I guessed right, but come on! And for those where English is not their first language, how are they supposed to know what a vole is?
