FP vs. IM

What are the main differences between a FP residency vs. an IM residency?

What are the main differences between what a family med doctor does and what an internal med doctor does (a normal IM doctor who is not additionally fellowship trained)?

well there is hardly any difference between FP and Gen IM,they do same things in practice and earn roughly same money.only advantage of IM is that it allows u to do more fellowships if one is interested in becoming a subspecialist

nah, you can have a much broader scope as a fp in a rural setting and from a rural residency than you will get from an im residency.

if your goal is to just stay in the big city your whole life, then ya, you wont see much diff between im and fp.
