Here are two happiness scales (the Authentic Happiness Index and the Subjective Happiness Scale):

-------------------------------------------
Authentic Happiness Index (Previously known as the Steen Happiness Index, as used in the seminal positive psych research study:

Seligman, M. E., Steen, T. A., Park, N., & Peterson, C. (2005). Positive psychology progress: Emperical validation of interventions. American Psychologist, 60, 410-421.

---Available for free at: www.authentichappiness.org

Also, see page 57 of Therapist's guide to positive psychological interventions for a brief description on the scale, available via google books at:

http://books.google.com/books?id=B_...wAw#v=onepage&q=Steen Happiness Index&f=false

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Subjective Happiness Scale

See pages 17-18 of this book for the SHS. This one is also accessible for free in its entirety via google books:

...divergence on depressive indexes that is. You could also look at the Welsch A and hypothesize a low first factor on the MMPI-2 when someone is generally content as measured by the "happiness" scales
