Hey Guys so basically i am going to be a freshman at college this september.

I want to major in Chemistry or Biological Sciences.

What did you all take your fresh year?

I am taking

Bio
Chem
Expos (writing mandatory)

Is this too much?

That sounds fine. It seems like 16 credits (4 each?), which is an average course load.

Since biology and chemistry come with labs. Your schedule seems fine for first semester of college.

advice from a recent grad-

1) don't feel like you have to major in a science
2) talk to older students to see who the good professors are (esp for the classes like orgo where you will see the info on the dat) and also the ones that dont have like a C average for their classes (pickaprof was a great resource throughout undergrad)...as much as it sucks us pre-dents gotta keep the grades up!
3) talk to older students who can help advise you on when to take which classes. but then also go with your gut-what worked with one guy might not work great for you, even if he did get a 24 on his DAT and a 3.9 GPA while doing 20 hours of community service a week and then got into 15 dental schools...you get my drift. get lots of advice then make your own decision

good luck! enjoy it because it will go by faster than you think!

Thats what 15 credits if calc is a 4 credit class? And if its not its 14 credits. Thats fine for your first year. Rock the science classes :)
