Hi! I'm currently a first year med student in a university from the Philippines. I am a green card holder and am hoping and planning to take up my residency program in the US, especially because my whole family is already there. Trouble is, I don't have any idea how to go about doing it and I really need all the help and info I can get. I took up med in the Philippines because it's too expensive for me to take it in the US and, also, I graduated from premed here in the Philippines, which would make it impossible for me to apply to a US med school. What do I do to obtain a slot in a US residency program? I want to start working on it early so I won't miss anything.

  1. Attending Physician
There have been a lot of terrific threads on this forum dealing with exactly that. I don't have the time right now (I'm packing for my cross country move) but I'm sure a search will yield them for you.

Otherwise, I highly suggest you check out the following URLs which will detail the steps you need to take to get your ECFMG certificate and to participate in the US match:
