I am reviewing my TPR Demo Test results and can't seem to figure out this question even though it seems pretty straight-forward:

Lipase works to hydrolyze which of the following functional groups?
(a) Amide
(b) Ester
(c) Ether
(d) Hemiacetal

I originally thought the answer would be b - Ester as lipase hydrolyzes lipids; however, the answer is (a) Amide. Can someone please explain this? Thanks

Are you sure the answer is (a), because lipases are enzymes that breakdown lipids. Lipids are made up of ester bonds with glycerol (alcohol) and a long chain fatty acid (carboxylic acid)?
