Funding mechanisms for cancer research?

Given that the NCI doesn't fund F30's (training grants for MD/PhD students), I was wondering what people have used for external funding mechanisms for cancer-related research? Are there any that are multi-year like the F30?

If you can somehow tie your project in with breast or colon cancer, the DOD has programs for each.
