just wandering how factors such as an ageing polulation, technology changes or competitors such as biotech and how they are creating new things have an impact upon the pharmacy business

Sounds a lot like a essay questions a school is requiring you to answer, but i'll provide a little insight as to some things i have noticed. With the aging population the number of prescriptions is constantly rising, the growth of prescriptions is surpassing the growth in the number of pharmacists so that may cause some problems down the road. Technologically new means of filling prescriptions are in the works that would minimize the time require to fill. This could be good in that pharmacists have more time to council, or bad in that pharmacists are losing their jobs.
