hello all!!

I am just looking for any advice/guidance I can get. But my plan didn’t work out this year so I am planning on re-applying in 2021. My undergraduate GPA is 3.5 and science is 3.2. And I got 497 on MCAT. I am definitely going to retake the MCAT. I am trying to figure out how to best stay productive and use the next two years to my advantage to set my application apart.
I currently work at a great company as a registered behavioral technician with children with autism. I am getting a lot of one on one hours with my clients.
I applied to a couple of Masters programs for people wanting to enhance their academic records for re-applying. I so far got accepted into Case Western Masters in Medical Physiology, Boston University SMP.
I also applied to Tufts SMP and Georgetown’s SMP and am still waiting to hear back.
I am wondering if anyone can share light on these programs and if they would be worth the money to help me enhance my resume!
ultimately the goal is to get accepted into medical school and I want to do whatever it takes to get there!!! ◡̈
Thanks in advance for any advice!!!

Did you apply this cycle? And if so, what were the outcomes?

I applied to three DO schools, and have yet to receive any interviews or rejections.
Cool! Personally, I would try to take some postbac classes to raise your GPA and retake the mcat for an additional application cycle before an SMP. An SMP could be an appropriate path but comes with a high price tag and significant risks.

I had very similar GPAs and a 516 and I feel like I barely got in. Even with very unique ECs. You're gonna need to do well on the MCAT. If you're open to DO, you don't need a crazy score, but you should shoot for at the very least a 505 for DO.

This late into the cycle, if you haven't gotten an interview it's basically an R. Especially with Corona, they're done interviewing.

An SMP could be good to boost your stats.

I think your MCAT was bringing down your application the most. Your GPAs aren't the best but they aren't the worst. I would do some reflecting on what made your GPA lower. Was it one bad semester or year? Was it your study habits? Before starting an SMP or postbacc, you would really want to identify how you plan to study in order to show admissions committees you can get a higher GPA.
