This is just out of pure curiosity, but I know on the AAMC grid it says "rank of undergrad" is considered, and I've seen how some schools prefer Ivys more etc. Curious if it applies to gap year jobs as well
My question is pretty specific, but do you think adcoms are more impressed by people who have gap year jobs at prestigious institutions versus no-name places? Like if someone does research (paid full time job in gap year) at HMS or JHU etc. versus someone who did full time paid research at some random low tier state school (no hate I went to a state school) are they viewed differently?
I feel like the answer should be no but there will be inherent bias toward more prestigious places, thoughts?
