Gearing up for a potential reapplication/gap year. Looking at this cycle's application, my biggest weaknesses were a mediocre sGPA (which I have been addressing through taking upper-level bio classes this cycle, similar to a DIY postbac), clinical experience (I have minimal, but have been volunteering at our free clinic for ~6 months and counting, currently >100 hours accumulated), and research (I have no prior research).

As the wise @Goro always says, "Assume that you're rejected until you have an A in your inbox"

Any advice on the best route to improve for next cycle?

Obviously there is still plenty of time this cycle, just hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.

I would continue to raise GPA (depending on how long you've got A's consistently for) and get clinical volunteer experience on the side. Scribing wont help you if GPA/MCAT is still subpar.
