Gas elective in December

Has anyone successfully matched Gas w/o having done the elective prior to submitting the eras application?

It is possible, but the idea is not a good one. Is there a reason why the elective cannot be done sooner?

one of my classmates last year originally applied in psych and even went on a few interviews. however, during the interview season, she did an anesthesiology elective and decided to switch mid-season...she successfully matched.

nevertheless, just to echo earlier sentiments, it can be done, but i wouldn't recommend it....
