I just had my first general chemistry Princeton Review class today and we did some passages, and I am freaked out! Are there any good strategies for passages? I feel like its reading gibberish....

Hey there. Try not to worry too much. Just take a few more tests, and study. It just takes time getting used to the format. You're not alone. The passages can be tough. Just hang in there, and just realize that they often overload you with info. The more you practice the tough passages, the more you'll see through them. Take a look at the answers and you'll start to notice that they are only testing mostly basic concepts and interpretation skills. But practice is key. Keep it up, and don't get discouraged.

The secret to answering those scary passages is this: use very basic science concepts to answer the questions. The passages given are usually at a very advanced level, so as you read them, try to understand the passage using the basic science concepts you have learned. And thus, you will be able to answer the questions.
