The Kaplan book notes that if a mixed-order reaction is on the MCAT, most likely the goal is not to derive the rate law, but to be able to recognize how the rate order changes as the reactant concentration changes. I'm not sure what this means. Could someone please explain this?

It's like if you double the concentration of reactant A, how much will the reaction rate increase? If you double reactant A...

...and reactant A is 0th order, reaction rate will not change.
...and reactant A is 1st order, RR will double.
... and reactant A is 2nd order, RR will increase by a factor of 4.

So on and so forth.
