There are so many other factors than besides being an AMG vs FMG that it would be difficult to say. There are likely programs that don't interview or are loathe to interview, FMGs, but without board scores, grades, LOR information, etc. one cannot gauge the competitiveness of the above mentioned candidate.

While general surgery has increased in competitiveness, its still no Derm or Integrated Plastics residency.
