I heard from my friend that AMCAS asks how one got discharged from the military now. He said he got discharged with "general." I feel he can't get into med school now. I can't be sure. What do you guys think?

I know this because most jobs that ask for the type of discharge doesn't hire anyone that got other than "honorable"

army has nothing to do with med schools

Speak only of that which you know.....I received a general discharge for medical reasons and it has never been an issue with finding employment.

It does if you got kicked out for disciplinary action.

Yeah, you're being out on a medical is different than someone that gets out for screwing up. I know a guy that got too many DUI's, so he got booted with a general. They didn't give him a Big Chicken Dinner because, other than the DUI's, he was a good to go dude...
