I am a bit confused on how nicotine works in the brain. If nicotine is an agonist of Acetylcholine, then why does nicotine increases your heart rate, when Acetylcholine works through the parasympathetic nervous system, which decreases heart rate?

@danielsgirl0403 Nicotine can bind to nictonic ACH receptors on the adrenal medulla and stimulate the release of epinephrine which then acts on adrenergic receptors in the heart mimicking the fight or flight response
