    To any George Washington Med students: I was wondering if you could discuss some of the positive and negatives about curriculum, faculty accessibility, fellow classmates? GW is one of my top choices, and I am planning on coming this fall. Also, is there any advice for a freshman you'd like to give? Things you only wished you had known when you started out? Thanks.

    Well, the main reason why I came to GW is because they have excellent faculty here. Of course you'll run into a few not so great professors, but overall, almost all the profs are accessible, nice to students and fair. I found the curriculum to be very well designed in that they try to integrate all the subject matter and overlap the material. Most the profs are not doing full time research which leaves them to teaching. I don't regret coming to GW one bit. They pick a great class which is very diversified and interesting. DC is also a great place to be.
    As for the advice for incoming 1st years...
    Well, one thing I realized is, HAVE FUN your first year. It is a great time to get to know your classmates and find time for yourself. Don't study ALL the time. I know this is hard to do, and I too fell in the same trap, but looking hindsight (always clearer), don't spend too much time at Himmelfarb.
    Also, you don't need most of the books they recommend. You can check most of the books out of the library, but even those books are just for reference. Most of the material tested is straight out of the lectures.
    Good luck and if you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask. Got to get back to my POM report.

    Thanks for replying joojoobeware! I was beginning to think that the GW ppl were awfully shy or just too busy to bother checking dear, beloved SDN.

    Go Bruins! <img border="0" alt="[Clappy]" title="" src="graemlins/clappy.gif" /> {31 more days till graduation}
