Getting a grade changed

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
i don't think you're gonna have much luck with that. especially in a class, like math, where you're very objectively evaluated.

i mean, i guess it's worth a try, but don't get your hopes up. oh, and it's a big long involved process at my school.

well ****, i guess i should have every single one of my grades elevated, ya know, since i worked so hard and stuff. dude, get real, you must be joking. maybe you should ask all adcoms to take your mcat into special consideration since you studied for that a lot too.

on a serious note though, i once "questioned" a prof about the final grae that i got on a transcript. she said that she'd look it over and actually ended boosting my grade up. then again though, i was one of the better students in the class and she did grade me wrong so i think the situation was a much different.

I think, given my attendence and the work i put into class, i deserve a higher grade, rather than the one dictated purely by the numbers

Dude, I'm sorry. Thats just ridiculous. I don't want to be an ass, but do you know how funny that sounds? Especially the use of the word "deserve".

I agree, that is crazy! Might I suggest that you focus less on the amount of time you spend in class and how many minutes and seconds you study, and focus on the QUALITY of your study skills.

FYI, if you said that to a medical school professor, they would laugh for about 10 minutes and then kick you right out of their office and you would be the laughing stock of faculty meetings for the whole year.

Clearly, you have much to learn, so swallow the grade, save your pride, and really take a look at how you are studying, not how much. Anyone can work hard, but not everyone works SMART.

Good luck

if you dont mind the probability of the process being futile, i would recommend that you talk to your teacher to try to get that changed to a B

it probably wont work, but if it does, you've helped yourself out a lot

and if all else fails, remember, what worked for Monica Lewinsky could also work for you...

Not to be down on you, but I seriously doubt it would work. I have made bad grades before, yet I rarely miss a day and am active in class. In my four years of undergrad, I have never heard of a grade being changed after finals for this type of reason.

Unless you justed completely did horrible on the final, you should have known that this grade was possible. In the future, talk to the professor before the final, and before you get this grade. A lot more can be done before rather than after.

The time that you will put into getting it changed will roughly equal half the time needed to change it by studying harder.

wow you guys, be a little more sympathetic!
anyway, I really don't think it would work flynnt. And yeah, even though it would be nice to get better grades for attending classes and other things, the profs figure we are attending the classes to help ourselves, not them.
Good luck on future studies🙂

Oh, even though this isn't likely to help on a multiple choice test, knowing the prof and TAs really help. This semester, my TA gave me extra points on the tear=off(like a free answer) portion of my math exam. I think knowing him gave me the advantage.
yeah, I'm all the profs favorite😀 hehehe

man- I don't wanna be negative but

okay, so once I had a 89.9 in a class, the bastard teacher refused to count it as as A said X amt points in minimum for an A and you've got X-1
I tried to get him fired, went to him first, he says "You're pre-med aren't you?" YEAH (it wasn't the first time I went to see him)
I had even considered asking him for an LOR
then he laughed at me, said I can't change it, you're going to have to learn to deal w/ coming close, but not getting the result you want, I wanted to hit him, knock that damn smirk off his face.

Good luck to you though. if you've got a high C, and strong tests/quizzes/homeworks, maybe you can convince 'em to bump you to a b
