I have interviews to both University of Rochester and Albany University. I thought I'd schedule them on consecutive days so that I can save money on airfare. However, I don't know how feasible it is to get from one to another in one afternoon. I can't miss TOO much work time or I'd schedule them with a day in between.

For those of you who know New York, if driving from Albany to Rochester in an afternoon feasible? Is there another way that's easier?

Thanks!

yep, its definitely possible to drive that in an afternoon. if you have access to a car, it's probably the easiest way (instead of flying or something).

i believe it's about a 3 hour drive. maybe a little bit more.

not only is it possible, it's really easy. you get on 90 and go the whole way. i'd give yourself 3.5-4 hrs, though. good luck!

yes rent a car, do NOT under any circumstances take the train. i once sat on a train from poughkeepsie (hour south of albany) to rochester for 11 hours (it's at the most a 5 hour drive from po-town) probably more like 3.5 hours from albany, get off at the second rochester exit (46) and you are pretty much almost near the U of R.

Well, it seems as if I waited too late to schedule the interview (2 full days!) because the interview day that would have made it possible for me to do two interviews in one trip is booked up! Now I have a decision to make. I'm much more interested in Rochester so I think I'm going to do that interview now. I'm going to schedule the Albany interview for December and cancel if I get accepted to another school first.

It's too bad it didn't work out but the only interviews available for the same week would mean me taking 4 days off of work and 2 days off of school and I can do that right now.

But again, if I end up going in Dec. I'll still be taking another 2 days off of work and 1 school day AND paying for another trip out!

As you can see, I'm confused about what I should do.
