Im a DO that has been lurking here- I failed the COMLEX first attempt and passed second but scored a 237 USMLE Step 1 first attempt (after passing second attempt comlex). Took me a while but I got there.

I havent taken the COMLEX 2 yet but will and aim to do much better

If I apply broadly and late can I still get into a residency?

Unfortunately I only have 2 LOR (not because of performance but because I only asked two IM doctors and failed to ask others - my fault) I will get one in October (so have it by november).

Will I get somewhere for IM residency?

US grad

Apply allopathic IM mid and low tier university residency + do equally well or better on step 2+ don't release poor comlex scores to allopathic programs that don't care about them anyway = profit

I think every program sees them.

Was this through the ERAS- and was it DO/MD dual accredited program or an MD only match program?

The program I am looking at says they prefer USMLE but accept comlex.

Also- if I submit my app say end of october middle of november- is this too late based on what I have or is this ok?

I intend to have a 240+ on the step 2 But I wont have the scores in until mid january
