Actually, no. We got married after my 1st year. FIrst year was great - had all kinds of time to myself, all afternoon and evening, usually. Could study, watch TV, eat what I wanted, when I wanted it. Of course, it was also pretty lonely, b/c they lived 5 hours away. So this family thing is pretty new to me. I think that the only possible time to really get married (and have time to be involved in planning it) is between years 1 and 2. I have some friends who are getting married over Xmas of 3rd year, but they're mostly guys and their fiance's are NOT med students.Originally posted by smilez428
