Getting off of a waitlist?

OK I was pretty dicouraged when I was waitlisted at Ohio State. Is there anyone out there that was accepted out of the "alternate pool" there? What did you do? Write update letters, send additional LOR's, etc. I hope I can get in there because it is my top choice. Any info would be nice!

I called the admissions office at least 4x per week, begging them to tell me where on the waitlist I was...to no avail. However, I think they got so sick of me calling that they connected me with the dean of student affairs. We talked for about 10 minutes and he asked me the standard admissions questions, i.e., "why do you want to be a doctor; what makes you think you're qualified," you know, the whole nine yards. Anyway, I get the big call while at work the next day.

There's definitely more than one way to skin a cat. Good luck!
