    Just accessioned to AD from civ deferment. Already completed residency. Should I pay into the gi bill- does it cover cme?

    I was under the impression that the new GI Bill did not require you to pay into it.

    all I know is that there is a 100/month going towards gi bill i was told over the phone. i am going to PSD tomorrow to get a copy of my les.

    That's going to your eligibility for the Montgomery GI Bill. $1200 total. You can opt out, and get the 9/11 bill for free.

    for cme? since i dont think i will spend the 10 yrs in to get the dependent transfer.

    I've honestly never heard of either GI bill going for physician CME. That doesn't mean that it isn't possible. I suggest you go to the VA's web site and ask them; there's a place where you can search posted questions (maybe someone's already asked this there) or you can post your own. In the past they've answered mine in a day or two and were very good about it. Give it a shot.

    Yes, the GI Bill can be utilized for GME. Depending on what city you are doing training in the 9/11 option is generally better as you will get E-5 BAH for that location. In San Fran, NY, etc. that can be $2500+ a month.
