GI cocktail in pregnancy

    How do you treat your pregnant reflux Pt's? Some of the components for the cocktail are class C which gives some pause.

    My understanding is the the worrisome components of the GI Cocktail (viscous lido and donnatal) are marginally effective at best anyway. I just give the Mylanta or Maalox and skip the others. I actually try to do that for everyone regardless of pregnancy although I do get a few who want "the green stuff" or they won't get the full placebonated effect. It's similar to the po motrin vs. IV toradol issue.

    I only give donnatol (in non pregnant for crampy abdominal pain. )
