It's an honor society like any other. Looks nice. A 40 MCAT would look better.

they are asking for a 70 dollar membership fee. I don't have a problem with paying that but I know a lot of honor socieities are just companies trying to get money from students. Thanks for the reply anyways

You are going to feel pretty silly when you get to that door the key opens and can't get in. Hopefully it's not for the lavatory.

It's certainly legit. In fact, I'm wearing a t-shirt of it right now. I'm also an officer in the organization so I guess the bigger question is, how big of an organization of it is it on your campus? There are certain schools with HUGE turnouts at their meetings and goes to the national meeting every year while there are other that are just dormant.

Don't do it for the sake of your application because adcoms can assume you were part of honor societies by your gpa alone. However, do it for the opportunities it will bring you such as community service, officer positions, free food, etc.

I think free food is definately the clincher for me.

But in all seriousness, It seems like my school's chapter does a lot of community service through this honor society. I'm hoping that I can get more involved than just being a member. Thanks all
