i did a search on how to convert goljan mp3 lectures to an ipod and the main tip seemed to be right click and convert them all to AAC, but when i try to do that it says "could not convert b/c they are write protected or of the wrong type" Anyone more techno savvy that knows how to get these on the ipod or if it's possible? thanks!

i dont think you need to convert mp3's to play on an ipod

just drag it into the music library of itunes, connect your ipod, and complete the transfer!

(if they are write-protected, then you may not be able to transfer/convert those files)

Yes you have to do exactly that. I actualy didnt know about this and ended up buying 2 cds from two different people and it did not work to just drag and drop until i converted them all to ACC format ( whatever the hell that is i dont know! im def not tech savy i just stumbled on doing it by trying diff things) but that worked. The only thing I can think of is the person you got it from put a write protection on it or something.
Pm me if you have troubles-I have an extra cd that definetly works on ipod after converting to acc that I can sell you for 300 dolloars--jk ill send it to ya for free if u cnat get yours to work. Good luck

Thanks for the offer! It's weird some of them are converting now and some aren't. I'm going to see how many total will go over to the ipod and see if that amount is good enough.....

actually, some of the goljan mp3s (the one's from sarah smith, for example), are encoded in a weird kbps format that the ipod cannot recognize. you can play the file on itunes, but it won't convert to the ipod (i know, cuz i tried a gazillion times). what you have to do is google dBpowerAMP converter, download the free trial, and convert your files to 128 Kbps. each file is going to take about 45 mb though (just to warn you). I converted a couple, put them in my ipod, burnt them to a cd, then deleted the big files.

it's a huge pain and not as simple to put them on an ipod.

why do all that-just buy one of ebay for 9 bucks froma diff person and it easily converts on itunes-i had trouble with the first one i bought and just tried another one from a diff guy and it all conerted fine, didnt have to use cds and all that crap-all for an extra 9 bucks-i mean i guess if you think all that time is only worth 9 bucks to you but as a busy medstudent for me atlest my time is worth more than that
