Im at the point where I am keeping in mind which schools I might want to apply to. I've lived in NYC the vast majority of my life, but I won't only be applying to schools here. Can anyone suggest some schools along the east coast that are in good areas for a city girl to live? I don't mind quiet, but I don't want to be miles and miles away from the nearest grocery store, main street or shopping area. If a relatively busy area isn't possible, a large campus with many resources helps. Thanks in advance 😀

i wholeheartedly second Boston.

if you want to venture out of the east coast, chicago also sounds like a great city. i may be there in the fall.

if you want to go as far as california, san francisco is another great city.

I don't think there are any medical schools that are miles and miles from the nearest grocery store. There aren't many medical schools very small cities. Have you ever considered moving away from the big city? You never know, you might fall in love with it.

U-Maryland. Their downtown inner-harbor area has lots of cool shopping, eating and entertainment possibilities.

Boston is awesome. I also applied to schools in mostly urban areas. Check out Philly schools as well as Washington DC, and you also might like the campus life at Tulane

I went to undergrad in Boston...one thing that sucks is that everything closes early, like 2am. That sucked.

harvard or hopkins you might like. boston, baltimore

Try D.C., Newark, Chicago, or ATL-the dirty dirty

If you're an out-of-stater with high stats, check out Miami! 😎

CHICAGO
If I wasn't actually from the chi I Pritzker and Northwestern would be topping my list, but I went to U of C for undergrad and am looking to get out. But, you might want to look at any of the Chicago schools...all of them have excellent reputations, and as an African American, I would also say they have great cultural diversity.

PHILLY..got 5 med schools in one city! Can't beat that! Just got into school there..can't wait to get started
