Hi, I was looking into finding decent Psyd programs, and was discouraged to see that there are not as many programs in my area. Does anyone know what Psyd programs are APA accredited and considered competitive? I just want to find a program that is a good match for me.

Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio has an excellent PsyD program with decent funding and PAID practica. APA accredited since first eligible in early 80's; great emphasis on diversity and multicultural training. Only downer is Dayton, although it's not as bad as it could be.

University of Denver has an excellent program as well & great faculty. George Washington University & Loyola College in MD are also fantastic programs.

I'd add Wright Institute (CA), Univ. of Hartford (CT), and Yeshiva (NYC) as ones to check out. Maybe also Widener (PA), which has a captive internship arrangement.

HAve you checked out the Insider's Guide yet? It is a great resource for learning more about doctoral psychology programs.

why does no one ever mention loyola (MD) on here?? it has a highly selective program (about 350 applications this year with an average cohort of about 15) and high match rate...
I don't mention it because they rejected me! :D
