...which turned out to be my secondary receipt notice from PCOM-GA. I swear they do this on purpose -- I thought it was my first rejection. :scared:

Also, apparently they want my DO letter to NOT be included with my premed packet (which it was). Would have been nice if this was listed somewhere other than the secondary receipt letter; I already had my LORs sent.

👍

Touro does this with their interview invites. You receive a skinny envelope with their logo on the evelope and think to yourself, well here is my first rejection. Then you open it, begin to read the letter and half way through it you find its an interview offer.

Like the olympics...."Let the games begin"

Last cycle, I got 2 skinny envelopes after I interviewed which turned out to be acceptances...the schools also told us that all letters-accepts, holds/waitlists, and rejections- would be in skinny small envelopes. So unless the school actually tells you what kind of envelope to expect, you might be in for a pleasant surprise.

KCOM sent me a skinny envelope, too. I was like "what?" until I opened it.

I got a skinny envelope in the mail the other day, but it was a real rejection from DMUCOM. They were very vague about the reasoning... something about too many qualified applicants too few seats bla bla bla.

Anyone else suffering from skinny details?

NO I did not get any thing via snail mail.. from DMU.. rather I got an email saying I am on "hold"... before they would even give me an interview... I responded with a well worded rude email... basicaly saying.. that if you only care about my undergrad GPA don't consider me for future interview spots. (just quick note.. I have 5 years of graduate studies and a good MCAT score... not to mention lists of awards and Pub and EC activities... medical experience).

JKMed,

Did you say that PCOM-GA wants a DO letter sent directly from the DO? I was under the impression that all letters were supposed to be sent to and from your pre-med advisor's office?

BMW-

I'll quote the letter I received:

"Although not required, we also suggest that you request a letter of recommendation from an osteopathic physician. The letter should be submitted to this office directly from the physician rather than be included with your premedical recommendation packet."

Like I said, would have been nice to know this a year ago when he wrote the letter. I don't imagine they won't read it though.

DMU sent me an acceptance in a (relatively) skinny envelope. So don't panic if you get one!

Oh, and good luck to you in the application process, JKD. 👍

Thanks. Hopefully I will only have to go through it once.
😀

Yeah, I've actually heard of schools fed ex'ing interview letters, then standard post (and skinny envelope) for the acceptance letters. Got to save that money! Tuition don't amount to much!
