Darn...i got frapped today and i think i let it get to me on the RC section. I was so nervous when the RC section came...here are the scores:

PAT:25
QR: 17
RC: 15
Bio: 20
GC: 18
OC: 21
TS: 20
AA: 18

My GPA from ok college(UCI):
BCP: 3.51
Science: 3.58
Non-Science: 3.86
Overall: 3.66

On the bright side, I did very well on PAT. boy do i wish the PAT score was part of the AA score. Will that RC score prevent me from going to dental school? I applied to 21 schools.
Does anyone know if people last year got into dental school with similar scores like me, especially low RC and high PAT? Please let me know...it would cheer me up a bit...

I used kaplan online, destroyer, achiever, topscore, and crack pat. I've never gotten below 17 on RC from the practice tests, but I think the DAT RC was harder in addition to the fact that I knew the dreadful passage was coming that screwed me up. Achiver and topscore RC was so much easier(i got 20-22 on them) because they were straight from the passage. The real DAT not straight from the passage...

So what's my situation now...I am gonna assume that I'm gonna have to take the DAT again, so I'm gonna continue studying everyday(although I have no idea how i'm gonna improve on RC). But I shouldn't put on AADSAS that I'm gonna retake it unless they tell me to right? Or they would put my file on hold as I've heard. Well, I hope I won't have to take the DAT again...i'm sad.

I had no idea that the AA score is without PAT!!!!!!

yea, this was my first time. Here's a quick breakdown of each section:

PAT: exactly like Crack dat pat. The highest I got on crack was 25, which was what i got on the real on. I usually average 22-25 after getting 18 on the first few.

QR: lots of word problems. I finished all the easy ones first and was unsure of around 8. I never got below a 20 on any of the practice tests.

RC: I hate reading. IMO, Topscorer and achiever are easiest. Kaplan is harder, but real DAT is the hardest.

Bio: very random...read everthing u can. i read kaplan, destroyer, and wiki.

GC: very conceptual, not a lot of calculations.

Ochem: destroyer is a good tool, especially the road maps.

You have great scores except that RC which you already know about. It makes me nervous because I am hoping for all those scores and the RC threw you off...hopefully I can keep on the ball and not get to messed up by it. Did you read the entire passage and do the roadmap or search and destroy? You did great overall though.

i used combo of search and destroy and roadmap. but it doesn't work out as easy on the real DAT becuase you have to actually understand the passage. it's not as direct as in topscore/achiver where you don't have to understand the passage and just search for the exact sentence.

hey, I also got frapped on July 8th!! and got the same RC score, 15. haha yea, I wish I've done better but what can you do now.....I really wish I don't have to retake it. I posted my scores on this forum, so if you are wondering you can look it up. I don't know it's true but on predents.com one person with the RC score of 15, AA of 20, and TS about 21(can't remember exact number) got into UPENN last year!! and this person got tons of interview invites from other schools as well. (doesn't have master or anything just undergrad degree).

For RC I would advise against road mapping. takes too long....

exactly I also don't know how people can use search and destroy method on the real thing. Its imp to und the passage in order to answer those tone type of questions.

Your scores look great except the RC, like you already know. Alot of schools have cut off of 16 I think. You might wanna call your top schools and make sure. But I love your other scores, if schools ignore your RC score then I don't see why you wouldnt get interviews. Good Luck!

Are you a native speaker or born in the states? Maybe admission committee ll take that into account? I also didnt too hot on the RC as well. The piano passage killed me here...

Piano passage killed me too. It is impossible. You hear all the talk about the ethics passage i dunno i think the piano passage may be more difficult.

Do you guys mean that the piano and ethics passage are both on the FRAP version of DAT?

nah I think FRAP has ethics, but piano is from a different version.

i saw ur score...u have an AA of 20 so you're ok. even that person who get into upenn had an AA of 20, but mine's only 18 🙁
