I recently got into AECOM and Albany Med. Do you think I should still go to my Drexel interview? Is there anything about Drexel that is better than either of the two New York Schools above? I want to save money (flying out from California) but don't want to kick myself if Drexel is better in terms of clinical and curriculum. I liked AECOM. Any advice from someone who knows more about the schools or have interviewed at both would be appreciated.

My impression of the schools is that Einstein is in a different tier than both Albany and Drexel- unless there are financial aid issues I would stick with Einstein and drop both Drexel and Albany.

My humble opinion.

Thanks for the reply! Any other opinions?

Hey there.

This decision definetely has to boil down to just your feelings about each of the schools. If you know that either AECOM or Albany are for sure places you would rather be then cancel the interview. However, from what I have read in all the other threads people generally go to the interview unless they are completely sure they don't want to go there. It all boils down to the idea of will you have regrets by not going and will the thought "what if I had gone to Drexel" linger in your mind. But remember it is up to your gut instincts. Good luck with whatever you do.

Do you think I should still go to my Drexel interview?

No

Is there anything about Drexel that is better than either of the two New York Schools above?

No

It's not

Financial aid at Drexel is pretty sub-par when it comes to grants/scholarships. I would likely go to the interview if it wasnt too much of a hassle, with the thought in mind that some type of financial aid miracle would have to come through for me to matriculate. It might be kind of fun to visit Philly if you've never done so!

First off, congrats on the multiple acceptances. Einstein is a much better school than Drexel and Albany. I had a Drexel interview earlier in the month, and I only went because I had never been to Philly before (I have already been accepted to my state school (Oklahoma) so I'd rather go there than Drexel). I have my Einstein interview next week, and would love to go there. I did the Summer Research Program at Einstein this past summer, and really had a great time there. If I were you, I'd say save the money and dont go to the Drexel interview.

Nope, don't bother going to Drexel.

If it makes you feel better, I'm from Cali and got into BU. Was supposed to fly out to Philly this weekend for a Monday Drexel interview but called to cancel just two days ago. Drexel is no where near as good a school as Einstein or BU. I would go to Drexel over Albany though.

If i got into Einstein I'll be very happy. Bronx here I come!

I just interviewed at Einstein last Thursday, and would definitely go there. I had a great time. I also got accepted to Drexel yesterday, but I'm going to decline the acceptance since I'd rather go to OU than Drexel.

Good luck everyone.

For the love of God don't go to Drexel.

Ok, just to go against the crowd here...I am accepted at two schools with ?3? still to hear from, and although they are probably rejects, and I LOVE both schools I am accepted at, I would certainly go to any other interviews offered. Why? Cause you never know. Maybe, although Drexel is ranked lower, has worse FA, or whatever, maybe something about it will surprise you. Even if you dont end up choosing it, perhaps it will change the way you select your school, or at least provide you with all the info possible. Hey, this is the next 4 yrs of your life, whats a couple of days and a plane ticket? Just my thoughts.

Hi guys -

While were on the topic of AECOM, I have an interview in like 2 weeks and Im not at all excited about going. I dont know much about the school. I have a few med school books, looked online, did the usual stuff. Can someone who knows something about AECOM give me their impression of the school - good or bad.

Thanks 😀
Clarissa

You will hear this a lot from people on this board, the students there, and the faculty/staff at AECOM: everyone is very happy to be there and NICE. That was the impression I got after visiting. Though the day is very unstructured (they give you the file, you go to interview, no talk or information given to you about the school), everyone I met there was super nice. The security lady spent 10 minutes looking for a pen for me, a random student walked me to my interview because I was lost, and the people at the front desk were very nice too. The students seemed to really like it there. My tour guide was a student from UCLA and she loves it there, even though the move was far and weathern drastically different. I definitely had a postive impression of the school. Well worth a visit, unless you already got into a UC, seeing as how you're from CA.
