I was wondering what you all thought about applying this cycle. I have good ECs, shadowing experience, research experience, but I am young (I would be 20 upon matriculation into medical school). Should I apply this cycle or take a gap year? What schools should I be looking at?

@Faha I mean next cycle (sorry). Basically, I would either be applying in 2017 or 2018 (if I took a gap year).

My state of residence is RI

If you apply broadly to at least 15 schools you should receive several interviews. Schools to consider include:
Boston University
Tufts
Quinnipiac
New York Medical College
Einstein
Rochester
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
GW
Georgetown
Oakland Beaumont
Medical College Wisconsin
Rosalind Franklin
St. Louis
Creighton
Tulane

I suggest:

U VM
USF Morsani (maybe)
Duke (maybe)
Case (maybe)
Both Mayos (maybe)
Miami
St. Louis
Albany
Albert Einstein
Rochester
Rush (note: very service/experience oriented with a 150hr service requirement. Avg student has 800 hours of community service, and >1800 hours of health care exposure.)
Rosy Franklin
BU
MCW
Hofstra
NYMC
VCU
EVMS
Wake Forest
Jefferson
Temple
Drexel
Creighton
George Washington
Emory
USC/Keck
Tulane
Dartmouth
Loyola
Oakland-B
Uniformed Services University/Hebert (just be aware of the military service commitment)
Any DO program, starting with UNECOM, PCOM and NYITCOM

If I were you, I'd take a gap year and beef up either your research work or service experience. You'd be golden for acceptance, but also 20 is pretty young and I personally would have waited a year at 20. I assume you have reservations about your age as well since you mentioned it. However if the reason you worry about age is because of how adcom might view it, I don't think it counts against you in their minds
