My transcript is riddled with D's C's and F's in lots of science classes, and I've recently began retaking them. I've gotten A's in every single one of em so far. My question is how is the GPA calculated when you retake a course. I search the forums but everyone is pretty vague about it all. I cant seem to find anything on the AMCAS site either. So suppose I got 4 units of general chemistry and I got an F in it. Then I retake it and I get an A in it. Now I know they include all your grades for MD schools. Does the GPA calculation give me 8 units of C average, or is it going to give me 4 Units of C average.
ie, (4*0)+(4*4) = 16 grade points, with 8 Units
or is it 8 grade points, with 4 Units
