Hello Guys, I was just wondering, what is the lowest GPA , Science and Overall a person has gotten in to med school with? How about MCATs? Do you know them or heard the story?
according to the most recent MSAR, there were people who got accepted with a 2.8 overall and a 2.75 in science. However, what it doesn't say is that these applicants probably made up for their low GPA with high MCAT scores, or activities.
Best bet is to to pull up your overall/science to 3.25. That is the bare minimum that my advisor tells people. Good luck.
I know someone who got into Duke with just below a 3.0.
And a 35 on the MCAT.
And an MPH.
And about a decade of healthcare experience.
The three people I know who got into Duke, UC Irvine, and University of Iowa all had GPAs around 3.0 but MCAT scores around 35. Strangely enough, they all had their MPH, too, so that seems to help.
So it's not impossible to get into a good school with a low GPA, but there has to be something else there to compensate.
