Hypothetical question here:

If the PASS opens in May, and I am currently happy with my grades/class rank, can I just submit my official transcript before the grades are posted for the spring semester in July? Once my application is submitted, would I ever be asked to go and update my transcript to include that last D3 semester?

I hope not, because it would be nice not to have the stressor of class rank/grades in the back of my head any more when I’m trying my best to manage patients etc.

You do not submit your transcript. You put in a request for the dental school to submit them. Your D3 grades will be part of your application; no way around it.

Even if you submit at the earliest date (PASS opens in mid -May), by that time most dental schools have posted grades for the D3 Spring semester onto your transcript, so no matter what, all of your D3 Fall and D3 Spring grades will be included on the transcript that is sent to programs.

my school won’t finish the spring semester until July, which is what prompted my question. I suppose I’ll have to keep kissing ass and making grades

I see. In my school we usually had all of our Spring grades posted by May 10 at the latest every year. Regardless, you should keep your grades high because if you don't match, you'll have to apply the following year with not only all your D3 grades, but now also your D4 grades. Don't underestimate how difficult it is becoming to match into OMFS these days. Its even a struggle to find internships these days, and those used to not have much competition.

Keep your grades high until the very end. You never know where life will take you and GPA can be a significant factor for acceptance into specialty programs. The grades cannot be changed while other factors of your application can.
