Does anyone else feel weird about having sentence fragments all over the application?

obviously we have no other choice with the length constraints but i feel like it looks unprofessional and its bothering me

am i just nuts 😕

You are not alone. But. Like you said. We have really no choice. At all.

😉

So did I...I just condensed what I wanted to say and I feel like I still got my point across.

That's pretty much impossible when you're trying to explain your research and the words are inherently long... and there's no way around it because if you start substituting words it sounds really dumb.

*sigh*

When I explained my research I gave a brief description of my project...I would have liked to elaborate more but I figure that's what interviews are for. They're aware that applicants only get 175 characters, and everyone's in the same boat.

It is possible to write a coherent and concise essay without sacrificing grammar. Otherwise, you're doing something wrong.

But.. we only get 175 including spaces...

Researches are typically over a year long. So much stuff goes on.. 175 spaces is like 1.5 normal length sentences.

Spinal transection surgery on mice.
Find relationship: muscle mass vs. locomotion.
Viral knockout of myostatin gene.
Quickazine/Serotonin enhancer injection
SIMI Kinematics analysis.

That is already 178 characters and I am planning to take out the periods...

That's basically what I'm doing, listing the main points... if I included things like "I did..." and "I researched..." I would get like 2 sentences in.

Sorry I thought you were referring to your essay. In that case, you are fine. No need to be wordy here. Just straight to the point.
