Hi everyone,

I have been looking for good flight deals, since I will be paying an arm and a leg to fly from Canada to the states for my interviews. Anyway, I found this one for Delta. Basically, you join the ambassadors club for intercontinental hotels for $150, and you get 25000 delta miles (one free award trip within the US and Canada). Also, you get other perks such as a free hotel stay.

Sounds like a good deal to me!! 👍

For $150 you get 25000 miles, which can be used for a free trip (not two free trips). Sorry I didn't make that clear.

There don't appear to be any catches. You register with the intercontinental points program, pick Delta and enter your mileage plan number in the "automatically earn miles during stay" screen, then choose elite status for a one time $150 fee. It says that the miles will take 6-8 weeks to show up on your Delta account. Click the link, all of the details are there. I did it so hopefully it works out ok 🙂

So, for $150 bucks you get a free ticket? Can you go anywhere Delta flies or are there blackout dates/locations?

If you register for Delta skymiles, you can search for flights on their website in the skymiles section. It will tell you about availability there. Of course, you can't book anything until the miles are deposited in your account, 6 weeks or so from now.

This would be best for interview travel November onward (no penalties for less than 14 day purchase, etc)
