What's your research look like?

That doesn't feel like enough experience to make you qualified to be accepted to the NIH postbac...

The postbac is fine if you can get it but working as a research tech with an independent project(s) would also suffice.

You might be able to get into specific NIH labs depending upon your experience. Regarding the MCAT, a re-take might be useful for top-20 schools, but many quality MD/PhD programs (including many MSTPs) will appreciate a good candidate with a 512. I suggest examining the level of competitiveness of programs by examining the number of applicants per matriculant (see AAMC table B-8): https://www.aamc.org/download/321544/data/factstableb8.pdf
Examine these ratios...

PM me if you want to discuss specifics.

Thank you for the information its very useful, the average matriculation statics are only found on the programs website? The AAMC doesn't compile this data correct? I mean I understand why because its not apples to apples because the reaserch time/quality are so important

We have info for MCAT and GpA. Don't think AAMC keeps track of months of research experience, although some programs do have that info on their admissions info pages.
