Group all of my clinical volunteer together?

I volunteered in two hospitals but both in the emergency department. It's been advised to group all of your shadowing together, giving a total hours for each physician. I was wondering if this rule applies to clinical volunteering. I need to save spots for my other activities/work.

if you need the spots, then yes. if they are not significant enough on their own, then yes.
