So I've been wondering this for a long time and figured I'd finally ask people on an anonymous internet thread; asking co-workers and random people I meet at second looks has only made things awkward. So, in keeping with the male gynecologist threads, guys...would you go to a female urologist?

Oh, and I've purposely left off the most obvious answer, "Yes, if she's hot", considering I plan on becoming frumpy during med school and residency.

i'll let you touch my hoo hah if you want.

haha why would a girl every want to be a urologist? then again, why would a guy ever want to be a urologist?

This has to be on the back of everyone's mind, so I'll ask... how would you react if she gave you a stiffy?

It's not like you can trick a Dr. into believing it's allergies or something!

It wouldn't bother me. I only discriminate against doctors based on whether I think they know what they're doing or not, not based on gender. 😉 So, sure, I'd see a female urologist.

Your question should be "How would she react if she gave you a stiffy"

"so...do i pay you now, or when we're done......"

kidding, of course.

stiffy? what if u blew a load right there and then, does she just kick u out or will there just be a 2 minute awkward silence

Hopefully if she was attractive she would come along for the ride.

Doesn't take much to make you go off, does it?

I see no problem with going to a female urologist, I don't see why a man should be scared or uncomfortable with it. As a matter of fact I think I would be more comfortable with a woman handling my package than another dude. And as for a male gynecologist, why do people keep thinking that's strange? There are TONS of male ob/gyns, and as a matter of fact, a few years back there were almost no women in that specialty. 😕

As long as you don't say, "Don't worry, I have a son your age" to your patients while you prepare their testicles for a sonigram. This happened to me once after a little football accident. Very weird.

Oh, you left out the option "I'de rather have a chick stare at my nuts than a dude"...which I think is a little more universal than the "only if she's hot" option 👍

I have always had a fascination with the complexity and beauty of male reproductive anatomy. The hands on approach and challenge to urogenital surgery is a big draw, and psychosocial issues of health problems that affect masculinity must be dealt with so gracefully and tactfully. I don't understand how anyone could NOT want to go into urology. I mean...am I the only one with pictures of penises all over my wall?

I can't say for sure...but yes.

Not a guy - but my husband was creeped out when he discovered that the only urologists in town are men. That's probably his reason for putting off the vasectomy for so long ....

When I moved a year ago, I chose a male gynecologist. Part of me did it because I figured the male ob/gyns probably don't get as many patients so I felt bad for him (actually it WAS easier to get an appt with him than the other female docs in the group!). I actually am considering urology as a future field because it combines medicine/surgery quite nicely.

I'm sure every female urologist has had the experience of dealing with an erect patient before. It's probably mortifying the first time it happens, but I guess that's something you have to learn to deal with tactfully and not make your patient feel embarassed about it.

K, lets just put it this way, would u rather a man or a woman see you get excited when they touch you? sure id feel uncomfortable to get a "stiffy" if handled by a female urologist, but heck ill feel even more uncomfy if it was from a guy

Female doctors are ugly so it doesn't matter.

that's true. that'd be doubly awkward. it's not fair that women don't have to deal with these difficulties.

speaking of this topic, me was wonderin' when youse first stiffy eva wuz. Me's remember when i was in 5th grade.

Gorgeous urologists-to-be do exist.

a hand job is not tactful. dealing with it tactfully is a stupid idea.

Doesn't this seem like somewhat of an odd question?

I guess I don't know that many heterosexual males who would rather have another guy handle their genitals instead of a woman. But then again, it's the 2000's.. times they are a changin'..

men can get scared of the opposite sex sexually asulting them too, the feeling we get when visiting a female urologist is the same feeling women in jail get if they get striped down by male security guards, thats why women security guards do it, and thats why that lafave teacher only gets probation while thousands of men gets 20-life in prision, BOOOOOOOO

This topic reminds me of the shrink in Soprano's (Lorraine whatever her last name is) There's so much sexual tension between her and Tony (or is it between me and her ) - anyway the point is I'd rather go to nice looking female doctor, urologist or not. Just as I would rather have a female massues than a male one. 😀

...i just think ur a little too horny all the time, male massues are so much better, unless the female one is built like a guy...actually thats worse

Hi there,
Here at University of Virginia, women outnumber men in the Urology residency. The vice-chair of the department is a female urologist and she's an excellent professor. It's a great surgical specialty with elegant and interesting surgery cases. I think the urology is an ideal surgical specialty for anyone male or female.

While urologists handle problems with the male reproductive system, they also handle any surgery of the urinary tract. There are also many great pediatric urological procedures like Metrofanoff stomas. There are loads of great oncology procedures in urology too.

Interesting cases, good lifestyle, with good pay. What is not to like about urology? I guess that is why it is a very competitive specialty these days.

njbmd 🙂

who said anything from a hand job? Maybe you're just not virile enough to get it up without someone fondling it for hours.

NOPE!

Well, it would have been more amusing if it were clear from my alias that I'm a girl...

I'm pretty sure I am not the only girl that loves erections...

Good point.

On the male/female gynecologist topic, I've only seen a female gynecologist once and it was the most horrible and painful thing that my poor vajayjay has experienced. Never again.

Frankly, it makes sense that men have a lot more experience touching vaginas....

That's ridiculous.
I deal tactfully with all of the handjobs I give.

Guys are capable of having erections in the womb. It's not a big deal.

the best thing you can do if you end up with a boner when she's handling your junk is to divert her attention with a big trombone-style fart.

This thread appears to have gone from a Urology question to a "I'm in third grade and just discovered an erection.. teehee" thread. Maybe I just don't spend enough time pondering male vs female hands on my genitals. <shrug>

couple of beers, close your eyes...not really much of a difference? as dave chapelle would say, "a mouth's a mouth." seems that would apply here.

and yes, i realize this is a childish response...but i'm at work, and this thread has deteriorated sufficiently i think :meanie:

Yeah, I grossly underestimated the number of pre-pubescent responses I would get. Fool! But I guess that's what the poll is for.
