I just got a letter from GWU informing me of "alternate" status post-interview. Does anyone know exactly what this means? It says "a final decision has yet to be made regarding acceptance." Anybody familiar with this particular status and can give some insight on GW and what my chances are to eventually be accepted? Really like this school a lot......

Its definately better than getting rejected outright.......you're on the waitlist....your chances of acceptances really depends on this year's applicant pool......in my interview, they were saying that last year they couldn't even get to the alternate list 'cuz everyone offered acceptance kept their offer. It could be different this year.

Would you mind posting when you interviewed. I'm still waiting to hear something....

i received an alternate letter as well. i'm so incredibly bummed about this. i know they took people off of the alternate list last year. i remember reading about several people on this site who got in. anyway, this sucks so much that we have to wait until may. 🙁
