If material X had a half life of 2 years and 8 years has passed, what fraction of the material is left?

the answer is 1/16

first half year: 1/2 (2 years)
second half year: 1/4 (4 years)
third half year: 1/8 (6 years)
fourth half year: 1/16 (8 years)

just use ur fingers for half life.. the questions are almost always str8 forward for half life..
