Hey guys,
I would like to ask nurse practioners or NP students if you are happy working as NP in a clinical setting.
I'm planning to apply to accerelaed NP program, not a nurse but have science background.
I realized from working at a hospital that "hierarchy" is extreme in health field, even among doctors with different sub-field. maybe I only seen ugly ones.
how is it as NP? do u get reasonable autonomy? how about working hours?
Thanks.

I was wondering how an accelerated program works. Will you still be getting an R.N. first?

accelerated programs usually work as follows: you need the prereqs + a bachelors, and then you go into about a 3 year progression to NP. The first year to 16 months (depending on the program) is rooted in basic nursing courses... some programs work by giving you a BSN, some give you a certificate in nursing, but regardless, both allow you to take the NCLEX and practice as a nurse anywhere. You then progress to the masters portion (the time frame for it varies widely, some people do it full time, some do it part time while working as an RN).

Hope that helps!
