If you try to log in here, what message do you get?
https://medweb.med.harvard.edu/finaidapp/logon.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2ffinaidapp/PgHome.aspx

Perhaps this poll is a little premature, but in the interest of early disclosure....

P.S. Please don't feel pressure to check. If you'd rather wait for official mail from the school, navigate away from this thread!

I am also curious if any MD/PhD gets a login failed....

~20% with the change...

congrats, guys 🙂

I applied NP MD/PhD and didn't get a call yesterday. mine says 'login failed'

Aha! Okay well that pretty much negates the whole login theory, right?? I hope! 😕

How so?

yeah, looks like the percentages could be right here...

Because Caribou is in (MD/PhD) and gets "login failed." But of course, MD/PhD may be a different avenue... who knows...

Two MD/PhDs applicants who got a call yesterday both get the 'contact' message. The one who did not get a call gets log in failed.

whoops... totally misread that post. Okay nevermind, things are looking ominous...

It is not a matter of "avenues" it is a matter of acceptance via any route. People accepted received the "no information" message while others received the "login failed". A few NP applicants have also received the "no information" message, so I am inclined to believe we may have found a new loophole.

I agree... Unfortunately still seems to be a reasonable theory at this point.

Wait, how did I post before you... ...I must be an Orcale! 😛 (In seriousness, I assume you deleted and reposted your post?)

you are an oracle! how come I can't stop checking and re-checking my fin-aid status page? maybe they just aren't done yet hahaha

Arg, I don't know. I can't either. Oh well time to refocus. Do you have an alternate/rather be at anyway/second choice?

UCSF if they can get their act together and send me an acceptance packet. I'm trying to weasel my way into their MSTP. you?

Hopkins, though I still begging for funding for the MSTP. So safe to say though we are not 100% set in a MSTP, still closer then not. Think of how much better the winters will be!

word. I 😍 the bay area anyway and Southwest doesn't fly to Boston at this point, although they'll probably start before the MSTP-8 are up. In other words, I'm not gonna stop checking my fin-aid page😉

Login failed. I guess that makes my decisions easier... 🙁

👍 Caribou, congrads on the stat change! 👍

I wonder if someone will call to find out, I wonder if HMS is watching us now.

Login failed... (NP, end alphabet)

Shoot, this is a crappy way to find out that I'm rejected....haha guess I shouldn't have checked if I didn't want to know;-)

So, do we know for sure that NP people are seeing the login change?

Gah. No change here, mid/late alphabet.

aaah oh well. i kinda expected not to get in...
well im glad to least be interviewed 🙂

Gah. No change here, mid/late alphabet.

i'm late alphabet NP and i got the contact fin aid office.

Middle of the alphabet name. Interviewed in Feb. for NP. I got the "contact the office" message.

I'm also late in the alphabet and got the information not available right now etc... message.

Too bad we have to wait so long to find out what it even means.

it's not over until it's over....keep in mind these possibilities:
1. this might just be some sort of "test run" for the financial aid office and might not actually mean anything
2. if it's real, maybe not all accepted applicants have been entered into the database
3. waitlisted applicants shouldn't be able to log in at all...so even if you get "login failed" and #1 and #2 aren't true, you could be at the very top of the waitlist and likely to be admitted

anyone have other hopeful scenarios?

however, the md/phd applicants who received calls are done/should be all set and get the "call the admin office" message.

If you get the contact fin aid office you were badly dressed at interview and so the fin aid office wants to tell you they have increased your anticipated fin. award amount so you can buy a new wardrobe. Everyone else with login failed was dressed fine.

that's true...
keep the hope alive :0)
until the letters come....

did everyone who is recieving the message (not availible etc.) already submit a FAFSA to harvard? I got the message, and just recently finished my FAFSA and submitted it to them

im just thinkin of all possibilities...before assuming its good 🙂

How recently did you submit your FAFSA? I think it takes a couple of days for the gov't to process it before they send it to your chosen schools.

i think this weekend... it was processed --i.e. i got my EFC on Monday.

Yeah does getting that message on the financial aid page only apply if you have already submitted the FAFSA?

I got the "contact" message. Applied NP only, interviewed late Jan, last name in mid-alphabet. Did not submit FAFSA yet. Using a Mac.

this might sound like a stupid question, but how many digits is the social security #?

I applied using my canadian social insurance # and it's 9 digits long, when I applie to AMCAS, they told me to submit that instead and thats what I'm trying to log in with.

i guess this is a good sign for those who got the message then...

yeah... I submitted my FAFSA way back in January and I'm still getting "login failed" 🙁

Now that's funny - especially considering the fact that I was wearing my Navy uniform!

hi yehosh, US social security #'s are also 9 digits long

ok, i don't know if this means anything, but: out of curiosity, i entered in my social security number, and instead of trying to log in, i pressed the 'forgot my password, email me my PIN' button instead...

and i got my amcas number via email from [email protected]. so i think if you get the 'contact the financial aid office' message, at least your social security number and pin are in the Harvard system....so that's good, right????

i'm almost afraid to get my hopes up....

4. That this thread is an elaborate practical joke on me.

is anyone who is receiving the "login failed" message ready to throw in the towel?
