Don't open it. You are not rejected unless you open it.

Just send them one of these....

Dear Admissions Committee:

Having reviewed the many rejection letters I have received in the last few weeks, it is with great regret that I must inform you I am unable to accept your rejection at this time.

This year, after applying to a great many colleges and universities, I received an especially fine crop of rejection letters. Unfortunately, the number of rejections that I can accept is limited.

Each of my rejections was reviewed carefully and on an individual basis. Many factors were taken into account - the size of the institution, student-faculty ratio, location, reputation, costs and social atmosphere. I am certain that most colleges I applied to are more than qualified to reject me. I am also sure that some mistakes were made in turning away some of these rejections. I can only hope they were few in number.

I am aware of the keen disappointment my decision may bring. Throughout my deliberations, I have kept in mind the time and effort it may have taken for you to reach your decision to reject me. Keep in mind that at times it was necessary for me to reject even those letters of rejection that would normally have met my traditionally high standards.

I appreciate your having enough interest in me to reject my application. Let me take the opportunity to wish you well in what I am sure will be a successful academic year.

SEE YOU IN THE FALL!

Sincerely,

That's pretty good. Baquettes must have LOVED it considering they made a login name just to laugh and show their appreciation. Haha

Just take it easy guys. With only 30 plus candidates to be enrolled in the program, you would have to expect a high rejection rate from Harvard.

I got a rejection letter from them 2 weeks ago. 🙁

Wow. with your stats, I'm surprised they sent out a rejection so early and didn't even give you an interview or hold on to your application for later on in the process. Do you mind sharing what you think ticked them off?

I love how you assume rejection with those stats lol

Well harvard sends rejections by letter and calls your phone for an interview, so if you get a letter from harvard, you pretty much know it's a rejection, same as if you get a call from them, you pretty much know it's an interview invite. I think they use emails for communicating other info.

LOL, I LOVE THIS. I love it because it actually sounds close enough to the original to be the real thing. Much like those Sarah Palin spoofs.

Your stats are pretty similar to mine. I can't believe you got a pre-interview rejection.😕 What do you think happened? Now i'm getting nervous.

hahahhahahahha. You are awesome!!!!!!!!

chances of getting accepted to Harvard in any field is always a crapshoot no matter what your stats are. High stats MAY get you an interview, but they get 24+ all the time that i think it's pretty much drawing people out of a hat type of situation. Last year, of the 30+ who enrolled, only 3 are from SDN, that just goes to show, there are many many strong people who are out there. So keep in mind, the competition is fierce. That is not to say you are not competitive, but as a reminder that sdn has limited numbers.

friend, if your predents profile is honest and accurate, i say it's impossible for you to be denied an interview at the very least.

you've done everything short of curing cancer and have beyond phenomenal stats, so don't stress.

Just curious ... has anyone here ever rejected an admission offer from Harvard?

Harvard is still a reach for me, even though I got an interview. I might turn down Harvard for UW.

You don't want to do that. You know you should take Harvard and turn down UW to open spots at UW for other people... like me! hahaha. =) Just kidding

I didn't apply to UW although I am WA state resident. So there is no UW vs Harvard for me lol

Damn, with all these rejections, Harvard seems like a dream for me now with my stats...I thought I may have been competitive, but they're just rejecting amazing stats left and right...it seems like one's PS matters a lot for them...that's the only way for them to know you personally before inviting you for an interview, and it seems like that's their deciding factor...numbers seem like they don't play too much here since they're receiving like all 22+ individuals...I have no more hope for that school, even though I would love to get an interview...ugh! I hate this waiting game...

Liberal and gloomy? Boston should be right up your alley then 😀

I thought you said you were an international student?

Yea, that is my primary reason. I would have applied otherwise. I am just trying to make myself feel better 🙂

That's too bad, but I'm sure you fit the bill for Harvard.
