Wondering if someone could give, idea of the difficulty and pattern of the recent exams.
Has anyone taken NBDE part 1 exam recently.

What I know for the boards is that the curve is the important one. To understand the curve you have to understand the concept of the mean average scores (how others did on the same test compared to your results). For instance, if you have answered correctly 78 questions out of 100 in a section and the mean average is 60.5 questions, that means that you did better than most, and they will give you more points for that section "that is your bonus and your compositive score is going to be up". So the point is to score as many true questions as possible and do not worry about how hard the exam generally is. If the exam is very hard, it would be hard for all, so the curve will change the compositive score!

Took it this past wednesday and it is a difficult exam but it is doable. Study hard and do your best and don't worry about what others are getting just make sure that you are prepared before you take it especially since it is only a one shot deal starting Jan 1, 2010
youngmc27.. can you please elaborate more about your exam experience. For example, what sections caught you off guard (like biochem or neoplams, etc); what would you do different if you had to study for it again and why? Stuff like this! Thanks so much for the help and good luck in all you do!
