I interviewed on October 26th and i've heard nothing. I know that people who are accepted, tend to here real quick like within 2 weeks. So whats up with my app? I've called like 4 times and each time the lady tells me it's being reviewed and, "good luck".

All I received frmo stony brook was a post card stating that my application is done and I guess will be reviewed, this was earlier this month.

I've also interviewed there months ago and haven't heard anything since (not that I'm really eager to go there, but that's whole other matter...)

I hear you player.

player I just called them and they looked me up in the system and told me that correspondance was just sent out to me (I don't know why it's so hard for ppl to not just say over the phone). So you should be hearing shortly

E'01-

What is this you are talking about?

Are they sending out letters in the mail? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

Sorry to alarm you mellow. I interviewed on October 26th. Every time I called, they'd say you'll hear soon, good luck! So I called today and the woman looked me up. She said that correspondance was sent to me and that I should get it within a few days. Then she said, "good luck"....again!

I interviewed fairly late (submitted app late)- Jan 18th or so and got in 3 weeks.
Hope this helps.

Well I haven't interviewed with them but I still have hope <img src="http://www.theunholytrinity.org/cracks_smileys/otn/angels/angel2.gif" alt="" />.
I received a postcard saying that my file is complete!

I don't know what is going on with them because I interviewed there on January 8th and I have still not heard anything yet. When I called a few weeks back the lady said oh you just have to be patient with us it can take about 1 month. So now it has been a month and I still haven't heard...What is the deal???

stony brook is one school that i was really anxious to hear from because my coworker was accepted only two weeks after the interview.

i interviewed second week of october and got an acceptance letter around dec. 14th.

good luck.

I interviewed a few days before Christmas there and have yet to receive word. However, someone else who interviewed there on the same day said she was accepted, when I ran into her during another interview..

So here I am.. still waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting... you get my point.

i have no idea how they decide when to inform applicants. i interviewed at the end of november and got in 2 days later. go figure.

complete randomness I tell ya. I don't think I got in but I'm cool with that

I received a lovely letter on Friday asking if I wanted to be placed onto the high priority waitlist. Very oddly written - its as if they wanted me to say no.

A friend of mine just got an interview invite over the weekend.

I am still waiting for my invitation <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

Stony Brook is a joke.

oh, I wouldn't know where to start...
you got their waitlist letter, so you know at least a part of it yourself. Also, why do they even bother calling up people for the interviews if their decisions are already pre-set. As much as I don't like the school, I loved my interview there; the guy was a real pleasure to talk to (probably the first time I could say that at an interview). Obviously the interview outcome had no bearing on their decision.
Anyhow...I'm not gonna rant, although I have lots of reasons to be bitter about that school. That doesn't help anyone here. Instead, if you have specific questions about the school, I'll try to address them. I'm unfortunately more familiar with it than I would've liked to be. :p

oops sorry I got confused, I responded to Mellow's question, but its E'01 with the waitlist.
