Just looking back on my experience of waiting for my April 2004 scores...

I think it was about this time I started having a bunch of dreams about my scores. Have any of the August MCAT'ers started having these wonderful dreams yet?

In the past, it seemed dreams ranged from really high scores, really low scores, scores where the individuals scores didn't add up to the total score, etc. etc.

Nah... .I've started having the dreams this past week. Well, it was actually sort of a combo between the AMCAS GPA calculator telling me that my GPA was equal to a 2.22 by their standard... and then actually receiving a lower score on the MCAT with studying than without. Oiy... at this point, I'd sell my soul to the highest bidder for a 30+ today. 😀

The night just after my exam (saturday) I had a nightmare that they lost my test and I had to go in the following saturday to retake it. Fortunately, this was not the case. I haven't had any dreams/nightmares since then because I don't really think about it too much - I'm too busy with my graduate coursework/thesis.

PS - My undergrad pre-med office lost my credential file w/ all of my LORs and composite letter. Big pain if you ask me. I went in there yelling and screaming at all of them in that stupid office. Thankfully, that has been taken care of though.

i had one dream a while ago that i got a 32, literally my dream score, a nice round number. but a few minutes ago i started thinking about it again and my heart was racing, out of no where! this was my second time and going down from my first score is what i'm REALLY scard of.
my favorite stories are of those takers who thought they bombed but ended up doing well. if any wants to share, now would be a good time 🙂

Only had one of those. I was sleeping in class, then jerked awake with "XX! I got an XX. Oh wait...I'm in chemistry. Darn."

Three weeks later, I got an XX.

Moral of the story, boys and girls, is find yourself a chemistry class, bring a pillow, and hope the MCAT gods smile upon you. 😀

Ah, the old impossible-fraction-of-a-score dream....that is a classic

I think most of mine where scenarios where the individual scores didn't add up to the composite score.

The last time I was waiting for the MCAT scores to come, I had a dream that someone got a 46. They released all of her information because it was the first time someone got a 46, and the reason she got it was because they had never seen anyone do so well on the exam, so they thought she needed to be better than perfect.

The whole story about the girl was on the login page... so then I went to check mine and I got a 45, and I was upset because I didn't get the 46, and thought I would look like the slacker. And as I was checking, my house was burning down, so I had to run from the house to my friends car (my friend who was in Wyoming at the time) and we just drove off, not caring about the house, and me just being upset with my 45.

So talk about a screwed up dream! I actually woke up really happy because I thought I really had gotten a 45. But then, as I pieced it all together, I realized it was only a dream, and my house hadn't burned down.

Maybe I'm lucky in this sense, but I haven't had an MCAT dream/nightmare (whatever you want to call it) since the week we took it.

Applications are really taking up my time, and classes are going to start again soon. I completely forgot I ever took the exam, or maybe I'm in denial, much like Psycho Doctor.

I dreamed a few weeks ago that I made a 6. Total score of a 6!!! I woke up nauseated!!!! Holy Cow!!

Then the other night I dreamed I made a 36!!! I woke up nauseated because it was just a dream.... 🙁 😱

I have that one too, but I thought it was because I actually did that - for all my classes - one semester. Glad to know that non-screwups have it too.

gosh, thats really strange because i have a similar re-occuring dream, except in mine, i show up for a class ive only been to once or twice--i feel really guilty about it and then the professor starts lecturing about something i cant even begin to comprehend. he announces that a test is soon, i freak out, end of dream.

I've had that dream several times, usually at the close of a hard semester. 🙂

My MCAT dreams were varied...

- in one, the scores came in individual tiny envelopes (one for PS, one for VR, etc), and I opened the BS first and got a 15 and was elated, but then opened PS and got a 5 😱 and was upset. I never got to VR 🙂

-I had another dream where I got all 8s, but that somehow added up to 18

-in yet another dream, I got a 0 in PS (can you tell this was my problem area)?

-my pre-med advisor called and told me I got a 45 and the newspapers wanted to interview me... and then I find out that they had accidentally switched my boyfriend's and my scantron's, and he was the one who got the 45 (he had taken it years back and done extremely well), so they came and did a news story on him.And the AAMC wouldn't give me my score report because they gave it to the news agencies, who needed to compare my score with his. So I had to watch the news to see what my score was, and they said, "We're here with Matt Lastname, who got a perfect score on the MCAT, blah blah blah, and just to show you how rare this is, his own girlfriend, who hangs around with this genius everyday, couldn't seem to pull any intelligence from him: she only got a 22."

I was pissed.

Last night I woke up soaking wet and my room-mate said i was talking in my sleep (always a sign of my anxiety and stress level). My nightmare was that i got my scores back with a 0 in PS, a 5 in VR, and a T in writing and a 15 in BS. In addition I got a letter saying I was suspected of cheating because my score totally improved after lunch. They accused me of switching identities at the break and said a letter was sent to all the schools I applied to and i might as well redraw all my apps b/c no one would ever accept me now. It was so real b/c I know i particularly screwed up before lunch.

gosh, I graduated 5 years ago and I STILL have that dream. I dream that today is finals day for classes that I signed up for but forgot about... and I'm rushing about, trying to buy the books, trying to get the profs to give me partial credit for this or that...

It's weird, because I just had a dream last night. Strange one. I didn't want anyone to know that the scores had come in the mail, becaus I wasn't sure how I did. Of course, it came in a huge manilla evolope (like twice the size of those already big manilla evolopes) and it was delivered by a UPS man. So I remember having a hard time keeping it from the familly. Then when I was alone and opened it up, there were all these papers and I was looking for my score. When I found it, it had P, V, B and next to them was that gray stuff that you have to scratch off on lotto tickets. So I was super nervous scratching them off to see what I got. I ended up with a

I was happy that I got a 30 but verbal is my worst section and I'm a biomajor so I thought bio would be my best. However, if those were the real scores that came in, I wouldn't mind it.

it is insane to make yourself sick over a number. It is in fact, just a number. How many of you remember the exact breakdown of your PSAT score, or SAT score for that matter. It isn't everything...because great schools could fill their classes with students with nothing less than 40s. It will not make or break you in most cases. 😉

For me they stopped right after I got my scores. But if you didn't do well, and you have to take it again, then they might continue.

But don't worry. I'm sure you did great! 👍

I just had a dream last night that first I got 8 8 8 and I was so upset. I realized it was only a dream though and was relieved. Then, I had another dream where I got 8 8 8.5 (which is impossible - plus in the dream the bastards wouldn't round my 24.5 score up to a 25). I thought this dream was real because I remembered the last one was a dream. Ugh the anxiety. And then you SDN people do not help things with all your scams about the scores being canceled, and about them being up!! 😡

I am definitely in nightmare land with y'all. I have dreamt that I got a 21, 24, 27, 37, 39, 28, 32 and 34. I would not be surprised to get anything from a 21-35. My most common dream of late is a 12v, 12B and 7PS- which although it is a combined 31, would still suck b/c of the low PS score.

I had a pretty stupid mcat dream last night. I actually dreamed about SDN, and that people were posting that the scores were up. But before I could check my score, a letter from AMCAS came in the mail saying that I had to send them two forms of picture id before I could find out my score...

just let the scores come!
